Bondo's guitarist-vocalist Nikolas Escudero looked out into the packed Zebulon room and told everyone that he hoped they all had ear plugs, because it was about to get loud. Zebulon does provide free ear plugs so those who wished had the opportunity to protect their hearing. When they started out their set, they did indeed blast out the walls. A projector screen was behind the band and shown on it were grainy images of the Pacific Ocean, palm trees, sand, and lights that looked like either cars lights, the setting sun, or UFOs. The night was their release party of their self titled album Bondo.

In a 2023 bandcamp bio they called their music as "collaging displaced tempos and fractured melodies. Their sparsely vocalized music conspires to bring into view a practical enlightenment, evoking the sandy contentment of an exhausted marine sunset." The video they had playing throughout the set fit perfectly with that sentence. As for vocals, it was rather sparse. When a song did incorporate vocals, it was either the screams of guitarist-vocalist Brian Bartus in his favorite song "Brian Screams" or the gentle vocals of Escudero.

Comment of the set: We're next playing the quietest song we've ever played. I'm not kidding.
I believe that intro was for the song "Meta World Peace." Is that song title suppose to remind us of Metta World Peace and the juxtaposition to his 86 game suspension due to his 2004 fight?
Moment of the set that wasn't the moment of the set. Escudero gave a heartfelt shoutout to his wife and her influence on the band. A friend of the band stepped forward with maybe too much information, "She's in the bathroom." I do believe I noticed his wife later on standing off to the side and the two appeared to give each other a momentary glance.

Their instrumental music largely vibrated the body while providing a sense of calmness via their steady, looping music style. As their set came to a conclusion, thanks waere given to the audience, "It's really weird music so thank you for showing up.

Watch out for the kids. They're going back to school. I do love the reminder. My internal clock does tell me not in the next few days that the Glendale School District will be heading back to school. Since my heading to work aligns perfectly to when kids start their walk to the nearby schools, I spend from now until late May being extra cautious driving around my neighborhood. Part of me always wonders if I should just leave 20 minutes later than the rest of the year so that all the students will already be in their classrooms.
