Coach David Cutcliff decides to stay with Duke Football

When Lane Kiffin took off from Tennessee to take the USC coaching job, I had this distinct fear that David Cutcliffe would take the Tennessee job. As mentioned in various news articles, he spent 19 years at Tennessee. It was also mentioned that Tennessee was a big step up from Duke. He did talk with Tennessee, but in the end decided to stay at Duke. Miracles do happen. At the minimum, Cutcliffe likely guarantees that Duke will always have a chance at a .500 record. No more 0-12 seasons. And perhaps we might even get into a bowl game in the near future.

Here’s a link to a News and Observer blog article (“Cutcliffe: ‘The job is not finished’”, Edward Robinson, 15 January 2010) that gives further detail.
