Silverlake Lounge: PLNT9 and New Media

It is always nice to spend time at the Silverlake Lounge. New Media and PLNT9 were the bands I got to catch. PLNT9 is doing a residency for October. New Media opened up with some energy. One of the best parts of doing photography at Silverlake Lounge: the lights are dim, but the best lights are saved for the drummer.

Resident: Ever So Android with The Little Miss and Wild Powwers

I had been thinking: I haven't been to the Resident all that much this year. I did go during the summer to catch a mid-day set by Feels. I don't believe there was another time. Then I noticed that Ever So Android was playing a show there. I was determined to head over for a second time this year.

Opening was The Little Miss with some Americana sounds.

Then Wild Powwers hit the stage with some Seattle punk

Ever So Android closed out the night with their own Seattle-LA punk sounds. It was great catching them again. I always enjoy seeing their set live.

Madame Siam: Wild with Honors

I discovered a new favorite band while hanging out at Tarfest a few weeks back: Wild. I noticed that they were playing another show at a venue called Madame Siam and I made sure I went. I just love their vocals. Pure bliss.

Wild

Honors opened the night. They're a band from Canada. They started the night off with an energy filled set. They split vocals between two of the band members. Each brought a different style of singing. One had a touch of RnB while the other had a touch of pop.

Honors
Yes, a night of one word bands.

The Satellite: Corina Sea, Polartropica, Little Galaxies

It was a nice night at The Satellite. The night was put on by Softer Sex Productions and featured a line-up of Corina SeasPolartropica and Little Galaxies.

This was my second time seeing Polartropica. I had previously caught a set of her's during Echo Park Rising. She has a fun personality on stage and her music has a pop sound with just a touch of Korean pop mixed in.

Polartropica
Little Galaxies was the closer of the night. Their sound has a nice electronic beat that goes from reflecting to energizing.

Corina Seas opened the night with some energizing dance moves and Central America influenced folk sounds.

Harvard & Stone: Nikki Lorenzo with Lauren Lakis

It was off to catch Nikki Lorenzo and Lauren Lakis at Harvard and Stone.

I had just seen Lauren Lakis at The Viper Room, but I wasn't able to stay for her full set. It seemed like a good idea to head over to Harvard and Stone to catch a full set.

Up first was Nikki Lorenzo, finishing up her September residency. She puts on a firecracker type stage show while singing with an edge and snare and smile.

Lauren Lakis brought some dreamy vocals mashed in with driving guitar riffs.
