Wearing denim, Vince Palmeri took to the Bar Lubitsch stage for a WFNM showcase night. His set started off with "RENT" that had my 1980s mind pinpointing his sound as a combination of Bon Jovi and Richard Marx. Throughout the set, he griped his microphone stand like a dance partner, turning it into an extension of the set.

His Spotify bio has this quote, "He channels influences from pop, dance, rock, to create a new sound unlike anything on the airwaves right now. His music is as eclectic as it gets, and it's his range as an artist that he prides himself on." He lists the Backstreet Boys as one of his influences. A few songs later in his set, he had my mind jumping a decade into the 1990s and that specific band.

He involved the crowd throughout his set. At one point, he got the packed crowd to raise their arms. You knew what was going to happen at some point during the set. Mentioning that it was a bit hot on stage, he removed his jacket and the crowd went wild. When the set arrived at the final two songs ("Infatuation" and "LOVE ON THE DANCEFLOOR") he told the crowd, "You have one last shot to dance if you've been sitting up against the wall." The crowd showed off their dance grooves. "Love is my message" he said before launching into the final song of the night.

What I noticed: his feet danced throughout the set and his paper setlist took the stomping.
He mentioned that he had been holed up for the last 6 months putting together a record that was going to be released shortly. He performed 3 songs from that album. I'll go with "SO GOOD" as the song spotlight. A plutonic friendship that turned into a failed romantic one? There are regrets expressed about it went in that direction.

Why'd we blur all the lines?
It just fucked with my mind.
Setlist: RENT, INSOMNIATIC, LOVER BOY, SO GOOD, Die Without You, SPACE BETWEEN US, Harder to Breathe (Maroon 5 cover), GHOST, Infatuation, LOVE ON THE DANCEFLOOR.
