Song Spotlight: Telescreens' Baby I Know You Well (a night at the Regent Theater)

Telescreens's PR firm reached out to US Rocker Music about covering the band at the Regent Theater. I had never heard of the band before. I did notice that they were opening for Quarters. Since the days when there were residencies in Los Angeles, I've always had a soft spot for catching the opening band. I decided to say yes without thinking about it (other than making sure I had no work issues interfering with making it to the venue). You can read my US Rocker Music review of the night here.

It was my fourth straight night out. An occurrence that I largely left behind at the end of 2024. That decision to go out less frequently was partially driven by a return to the office (hybrid) mandate at my real job and also the fact that I re-started this blog site and needed time to write these song spotlights. Anyways, I was just a touch running on fumes -- especially since the two previous nights meant arriving home past midnight. Yet, as soon as the band hit the stage and drummer Oliver Graf kicked off the set, I was hooked. His drum beats just peeked my attention and I was fully awake. A jolt of energy from those beats resulted in a second wind of energy that lasted throughout the night.

The song spotlight goes to "Baby I Know You Well." It is their latest release with a melody that sends you floating. The music video was filmed as a dusting of snow was falling. It was a cold enough night so that the snow flakes stuck to the hair of the lead singer and his videolover. She has this look of amazement and wonder while looking up into the dark skies. A love song about a match meant to be.
