Joey Nebulous (fronted by Joseph Farago) took to the Ryan Pollie showcase stage at The Fable and there was something vaguely familiar about the night. It was like Rocknite had transported itself to The Fable (the band had played that showcase on Mar 11th). In the audience were baby fischgrund (you can read a Rocknite write-up here) and Marcus Buser (you can read another Rocknite write-up here). Even Ryan Pollie (once again you can read another Rocknite write-up here about his side project Lower Merion) is an alum of Rocknite. Others from the Los Angeles music scene were also represent via Sharon Silva and Shannon Lay. I'm sure there were additional artists I've seen that were also hanging out to catch Joey Nebulous -- I apologize for not mentioning you all in this above list.

Comment of the set: I've spilled my beer twice already.
Unexpected occurrence: a dog barked a few times during the set. There were two different dogs hanging out during the night. One dog was lying lazily on the floor during an earlier set by Ricky Berger. Then there was another dog for Joey Nebulous.
Berger was given a call out by Farago. During her set, she momentarily turned her set into a classical concert while playing her keyboard. Farago played his full set on his keyboards and at one point played it up, "I'm trying the Ricky Berger piano playing." There was laughter from the crowd as they got the joke. He then mentioned that he needed to take piano lessons from her.

Comment of the set 2: Cher is my mother. Daniel Day-Lewis is my father.
Car bumper stickers for sale saying: If you honk at me, I'll cum.
If you get the idea that the night was filled with laughs and quirky comments, you'd be right. The band's bandcamp has the following line, "Their songs about pop culture, gay relationships, and comical fantasies were quickly noticed by the queerdos of the city’s [Chicago] music community, illuminating a pathway for the band’s longevity."
This band will have you skipping towards home as you'll get thirty minutes of comedic entertainment via conversations and songs. Hey, the band has at least five songs where the title includes "Joey." And Farago's move from Chicago to Los Angeles is perfect as he sings songs with titles such as "Cher," "Daniel Day-Lewis," and "Jennifer Aniston."

What's a quirky tune that I can select that aligns with their bandcamp write-up? The song spotlight falls on "You're Straight." Is there any deep meaning in the tune? I think you're supposed to have a laugh.
If you were gay I'd be more excited.
Partial Setlist: Cher, Break, You're Gay, You're Straight, Dancefloor, Daniel Day-Lewis, Dance with Him, Yes 2.
