Baba Jenkins played the final slot at the WFNM showcase at Hotel Ziggy. I've mentioned before, when it comes to the last band / singer at Hotel Ziggy, I'll try to stick around for a song or two before taking off to go home and bed. It took about 15 seconds or so before I decided I was just going to be hitting the bed latter than usual. I was that captivated.

I recently watched Sinners. Blues music is still on my mind and throughout the set, I was thinking I had stepped into the movie like Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire did in Pleasantville -- instead of the 1950s it was the 1930s. Were there any vampires lurking around Sunset Blvd that needed to be fought off? (Some may argue that there are many untrustworthy vampire-like individuals walking the sidewalks and driving the streets of Sunset Blvd.)

Lead singer's Ron Worthen's charismatic persona was the centerpiece of the band, but during "Dynamite" the rest of the band took center stage with guitarist Guy Keefer getting to go off like a ticking clock on a stick of dynamite. Bassist Joshua Young and drummer Ekko Gaha closed out the song with a rush to the finish line and then hands reaching out to the cymbals to get to a full stop.

Worthen's took a look at his band members for their last song "Wild." He wanted to make sure they were ready to play this sexually dripping song that had the crowd singing to the lyrics:
Give me what I want babyGive me what I want
Give me what I want sugar
Setlist: Captivating, Black Fire, Gonna Miss Me, Dynamite, Somebody, Wild.
