In January, I walked into The Three Clubs for the first time in likely over a decade. The venue does hold a special place in my heart, because it is where I first saw Rocket (the band fronted by Lauren Rocket). Over the years, I'd drive by it or walk pass it (while walking towards Sassafras Saloon) and always wondered what bands were playing inside the venue. An opportunity to return presented itself via the band Mystic Knights (you can read my US Rocker article here) and I was eager to attend. I showed up in time to catch most of Johnny Majestic's set.

Per his website bio, he comes to Los Angeles via Prague. That's a city I visited a long time ago. And, of course, I caught some bands there.
I will admit it took me a beat or two to settle into the set. As I mentioned, this was my first time in the club in over a decade. During that time frame, the venue went through a major redesign of their stage (both location and size) and I was in a semi-state of shock. After getting myself calibrated, I started to get pulled in by their glam metal performance.

The first thing that struck me was the band's style. All three guitarists / bassist played Z body instruments. The bassist wore a 70s nightclub inspired leopard skin shirt. Johnny Majestic on lead vocals was mixing things up with a white jacket while wearing bondage leather gear. The guitarist was going with the punk rocker look with ripped jeans and Ramones t-shirt. The drummer was going Miami casual.
His Spotify bio says the following, "writes rock music of the future molded by flashes of the past. Delivered on stage, in the studio and online with an unrepentantly mischievous streak . . . genre-bending music sharp and fresh enough for modern-day fans, but which resonates just as powerfully with listeners looking for a new rock n’ roll hero."

That is a perfect description of the band's fun set that had the crowd smiling throughout.
The song spotlight goes to "Weep All Over," which you can find on his debut album The Most Wonderful World of Johnny Majestic. That album title makes you think of movie titles such as Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

A song about being stuck on someone even though they treat you like dirt:
I've been lied toI've been played
I've been blinded
