Semi Trucks fronted by Brenden Sepe brought a raw power to Zebulon on a recent Monday night. They were the opening band for Bondo's record release party and their gritty performance immediately injected energy into the evening festivities. The crowd gathered around the stage with a focused attention throughout the set. The band split their set between songs from their sophomore album Georgia Overdrive as well as testing out new material. Their new material was well received. In fact, the crowd seemed to enjoy their final song of the night, the unreleased "Drunken," the most.

Sepe stood off on stage right. When not singing, he'd drift off to the dimly lit area of the stage, facing off with the amp. There he'd go wild on the guitar, playing the riffs with abandon. It was so dimly lit that my camera settings just couldn't capture the moments. For "Darker Than The Night," bassist Bronwyn Bradshaw took over lead vocals, giving the song a haunting feel.
What I noticed: there was the occasional discussions regarding who would play the opening notes to a particular song.

Their bandcamp description for their Georgia Overdrive album has a stream of consciousness take on the album, "Shackled loosely in big blue, in the wide open sun stained streets, in a garage on Lexington, in the small bars where everyone acts like stars."
I'll go with "Secret" as the song spotlight. It was their first song of the set and is what immediately gave a jolt to all in the venue. A whirling garage rock tune where the world causes negative thoughts, but . . .
