Shacar (moniker for Andre Smith) mentions Sade in his song "Phone Off." His silky hip hop vocals are at a lower register than Sade Adu, but Bar Lubitsch set had the same chill approach. The WFNM showcase crowd gave him shout outs throughout. The audience response was unfazed by the fact that he strolled up onto the Bar Lubitsch stage wearing a New York Yankees vest.

His bio is very honest about his early life's struggles. He grew up in Florida and then moved to New York City in 2013 to attend Pace University. Dealing with an inability to secure housing and financial constraints, he had to drop out. At some point, he moved out to Los Angeles.
What I noticed: he kept an eye on the clock. As his set was coming to an end, he realized that he had additional time life to perform. So he added a couple additional songs to his setlist.

He had an ability to just float across the floor. His dance moves were sexy and as smooth as those vocals. He took the opportunity to interact with the audience, coming out to the floor. There was one amusing moment where he started to approach someone in the audience just as she was turning around to put her drink on a table. She totally missed her moment and he grooved on to the next person.
The Song Spotlight goes to his most recent release "Phone Off." As he mentioned in an Instagram post, "sometimes it's ok to disconnect" while listening to Sade. It was his first song of the set and got everyone in the mood.
