Song Spotlight: Yogurt's Red Flag (a night at The Airliner Bar)

Does Yegor Borisenko love or hate yogurt? And if he loves yogurt, what brand?  His Instagram handle is: www.instagram.com/yogurtsucks. I feel there is some room for interpretation there. That is besides the point. The band Yogurt that he fronts was joining forces with promoters Rocknite to celebrate a record release party for Ipso Facto at the Airliner Bar. Per the band's Spotify short bio, the music can be described as "post-surf prog-pop dark-rock, from LA."

There was high anticipation from the crowd for the self-analyzing (or mocking) album. Opening up prior to Yogurt was Buckets and before they could exit the stage, folks were already positioning themselves close to the stage. 

Comment of the set: it is spicey up here. 

What immediately stood out was the fact that Borisenko was dressed corporate for his set. That means jacket and tie. It should be noted that the record release party took place on Wednesday, Sep 9th. The high of the day was 106 degrees. The Airliner Bar does have air conditioning, but it isn't the strongest. It was spicey up on the stage and steamy throughout the building. It did not take long before he admitted defeat, "I don't know how much longer I can do the suit." Soon the jacket was removed. Someone held a mini-electric fan up to him, but that didn't do the job. Soon, the tie was removed and the top buttons of his shirt were undone. One could then notice that he was going full corporate for the set as he also had an undershirt. His need to go business casual was driven by the fact that throughout the set, he was whipping his guitar around in wild arcs and going into battle face-offs with his bandmates.

The album was played front to back. I always do appreciate it when a band does actually play the full album (doesn't need to follow the track list) during a record release party. Seems to indicate a sense of pride in every song of the album.  

Another comment of the set: Shout out to moms and dads. The good ones and bad ones. It is what it is.

The crowd loved it all. The heat did not matter. Numerous mosh pits erupted throughout. I accidentally got caught up in one. Perhaps saving me from falling was the fact that my camera bag got briefly caught around the body of a mosher, which provided me with a counter-balance until I was able to get to the edge of the pit.

The last song of the set was "Los Angeles Personality Disorder." It isn't a song just about him. He told the crowd, "It's about you and me and every person we know." 

The Song Spotlight goes to "Red Flag" which include some self-analyzing lyrics. A garage-surfer rock tune that he played when still going full corporate.

Is that his warning to all his friends, significant other(s), family, and employer(s)?
