Honey Honey, The Mots Nouveaux and Coyol at The Bootleg Theatre

So Bootleg Theatre had an awesome lineup on Tuesday night: The Mots Nouveaux -- featuring Aaron Beaumont, Honey Honey and Coyol.

With Christmas quickly approaching, the bands had the stage of the Bootleg decorated with holiday cheer.

The Mots Nouveaux went on first. Their (as they describe it) retro-pop jazzy delish (or 1920s inspired) music delighted the crowd. The band is driven by Aaron Beaumont and Emma Fitzpatrick. Interestingly, Emma Fitzpatrick had a role in The Social Network.

Honey Honey hit the stage next. This was their night and it resulted in a 45 plus minute set. Just lovely. Ben was smiles throughout their set. Suzanne had everyone under her spell – especially for their finale, a Christmas piece. Funny moment of the night occurred during the end of their set. The DJ thought they were finished so he went up on stage. Ben yelled out, “We have one more song.” The DJ didn’t miss a beat. “One more song,” he said and then exited the stage.

Coyol ended the night. Nicely done. I do believe they’re a relatively new band.

All the bands are driven by two individuals: one female, the other male. There were also back-up musicians for all three bands.

One has to comment about the crowd. I’d have to say that Bootleg Theatre was close to being sold out. It was packed.
