Noah Vonne gave her blues and soul sound a slight shift in the direction of rock and roll for her recent WFNM showcase at Bar Lubitsch. Supporting her on stage were the omnipresent bassist for the LA scene Aubrey Harris and drummer David Cola. After playing her opener "Overthinker" she addressed the audience, "First, come up here, come up here. I know you want to." That was the nudge needed for the late night crowd to come up to the front.

The band definitely had chemistry that was highlighted during the song "What If We Had Austin?" Towards the end of the song, she did a music faced off with her drummer Cola that turned into a playful dispute about what to do next with Cola waving her off to get back to the microphone. To end the song, she and bassist Harris went face to face in a playful smiling tongue wagging moment that had the audience laughing.
During the song "Can't Stay In The City," she gave her vocals a snarl as she sang the lyrics "I just need some clarity. Days get foggy on the streets of west LA." She was so concentrated in her performance that she needed a friend with a keen eye to watch out for her. A napkin was placed next to the guitar pedal during the song. She was about to launch into "Wreck Me" when her friend started to point to the napkin. That is when she realized that she was bleeding and blood was splatted across the body of the guitar.

She took the napkin to stop the bleeding and assured people that she was okay. Though perhaps that can't be said for another friend. Later in the set, a friend brought a glass of water to the stage, doing so by covering their eye. Did all that blood get me a little queasy, as well? In a way, yes. I walked over to the other side of the stage where it was less visible.
With blood on her finger, she finished up the set with "I Call B.S." The song goes off on a topic that is often felt by many a musician once they arrive in Los Angeles: the interaction with other artists who come from a wealthy background:

I call bullshit
Silver spoon tucked in your mouth
Never had financial drought
It just drips down
With that, she bid farewell to the audience, "All be f*cking cute." She was the last artist of the night and the late night crowd wasn't ready to leave West Los Angeles. They all wanted an encore. She obliged them with one last song.
