Song Spotlight: Jazzy K's Heartless (a night at Bar Lubitsch)

Jazzy K went old school for the WFNM showcase at Bar Lubitsch. She has a unique talent at writing verses to songs of well known singers. During her set, she highlighted this by singing her own verse for Toni Braxton's old school song "Un-Break My Heart." In fact, this song writing talent got her the opportunity to join Coldplay on stage in Australia back in 2024 during the song "We Pray." She got to insert her own verse into the live set -- not just once, but on back to back nights. You can see the Youtube video of one of those nights here.

Another throwback moment happened later in the set when the backing tracks had a phone ringing. In her short's right hip pocked was a flip phone. She pulled it out, revealing that it was also bedazzled.    

The venue was packed for her set. Early in the set, she asked those in the front, "Do you know how to walk forward?" Everyone took a couple steps forward, which was a good thing, because it allowed more people to squeeze into the venue. Later in the set, she rewarded all her fans. As an introduction to her song "Sweet" she grabbed two bags that were filled with lollipops. Someone in the audience named Ashley must really love lollipops, because a friend screamed out that she had just gotten married. Jazzy K responded by saying that Ashley should make sure to grab two lollipops.

There was a moment where Jazzy K broke out the smiles with a touch of bashfulness. The look had me thinking of fellow WFNM singer Kyra Fields. The two need to play on the same bill some day. 

I didn't get her full setlist, but perhaps the song "Heartless" was on the list -- associated with the flip phone as the lyrics include the word phone. It has a flashback R&B sound with flawless vocals. It is a song where one person in the friendship is using the other as an emotional crutch.
