Andrew Benjamin (aka Andrew Benjamin Maldonado) took to the Bar Lubitsch stage at the WFNM showcase. He used the opportunity to showcase some niffy guitar playing. He seamlessly would transition between root rock to blues. One moment, he took his guitar to a high pitch level riff that had me thinking Top Gun soundtrack. His song "Vessel" had guitar scratching that had me thinking back to the prom scene in Back to the Future.

He is passing those guitar skills to the younger generation. Along with his wife, he runs the Blue Box Music Studio in Los Alamitos. Come this summer, they're running a music camp for kids. His bio has this tidbit, "Post 2015 Andrew found himself in a new teaching position at a music studio in Cypress, Ca. It was there that he found a new passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring musicians."
Back to the set, almost stealing the show was his drummer Justin Twitch. He put a show on all his own, splashing magic into his drum sticks with crossovers and flips that were perfectly timed to land in his hand to hit the beat.

Moment of the set: He asked if there were any dads in the audience. There were none (or none that wanted to admit it), "This is the wrong crowd." He is; however, a dad and sang a song dedicated to his child called "Faye's Song."
He put out his debut EP in 2021. Many of his songs on his setlist were released in the last year or are currently unreleased. It looks like he is prepping for another EP or album release in the near future.
The song spotlight goes to "Healthy Heart." A song about being overly arrogant where you think you already know everything and need no one's help. And yet, at some point he had to re-assess life and has come out of it better.
