Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens: 17 - 30

A painful play-off loss that wasn't really all that competitive.

The game seemed to start-off in a manner that would benefit the Steelers.  It looked like the Steelers offense was just a split second off and would eventually start to click.  The defensive line was just a split second away from sacking QB Joe Flacco.

The problem was that it was really Baltimore that was starting off in the right direction.  Their defense kept the Steelers just a split second off.  Their offensive line gave Flacco that split second he needed.

Yes, my first statement might be an exaggeration as it was 20 - 15 Baltimore in the fourth quarter.  On the other hand, I feel it is an accurate statement as that was the only touchdown the Steelers had even though they had ample opportunities.  Before that they had three field goals.

In some ways, this really wasn't a fair play-off game.  When you play the same team three times in a season, both teams know what to expect.

How do things look for next season?  Well, I'm not a football expert, but I think it looks bright.  The Steelers have a solid offensive line.  Their defense seemed to tighten up as the season progressed.  They have Big Ben, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.  My only hope is that Josh Harris or Dri Archer develop into players that will give Bell some help at running back.
