Abby Walker and Alex Carr was the opener for a Ryan Pollie showcase night at The Fable. I happened to arrive at The Fable early and got to hear a portion of their sound check. I knew immediately that I was going to enjoy their set. The duo was testing out new material that they are recording for an upcoming album release. Joining the duo on violin was Raina Markham.

This was my first time catching either musician and what an introduction. I'm going to take a wild guess that the song "Interim Shoes" will be the hit off the album. Walker introduced the song by saying it was about "being in the middle of something, but not really sure what's at the end or what's behind." A song with a folk melodies and highlights their two vocals blending perfectly together.
The song was inspired by their friend Alexander who was indecisive about buying either red or blue shoes. It was mentioned that the ultimate decision was to just buy two pairs of shoes. The words red and blue are sprinkled throughout the lyrics of the song. It was their first song that they wrote for their new project. I would also say that the song is about the idea that having a friend is important in life.
We're getting blue. But you're walking with me and I'm walking with you.
