Lua & the Nightflowers (fronted by Lara "Lua" Norton) opened up the night at The Fable (an In Sonic Dreams showcase) with some old school funk and jazz packaged with Americana and psychedelic rock. It was a genre blending set that had friends sitting up close.

Per their Spotify bio, they're a gathering of four individuals from different parts of the globe, "raised on strange folk classics and your favourite rock n roll bands." Someone uses British English.
Their song "Since I've Been Lovin You" had the sounds of walking through mysterious city streets, following the night lights to find that underground music show. For those at The Fable, we found our spot. They closed out the night with vocal howls that required a floor for bodies to dance to truly appreciate it all. Unfortunately, The Fable is tight quarters and there was no space for movement.

One has to love the band's banter where it appeared that they were ignoring the audience and just having their own private conversations. They almost skipped over their "Aquarius" cover due to complaints by the bassist of not having had enough time to practice the song. Amused laugher and smiles sparkled the set.
The song spotlight goes to "Pretty Baby." The song is one of their two current releases. A pretty baby relationship that ends in tragedy where a harmonica gives the song a blues sound that meshes with sensual Motown vocals. To emphasize the tragedy, the harmonica gives out some locomotive blasts.

Pretty baby, if I could have him back
The band wants you to watch the music video, because they put some effort into the video while dealing with a donkey.
