Sierra Levesque hit the WFNM stage at Hotel Ziggy with a firecracker personality. She hails from Canada, but now lives in Santa Monica. She introducing herself with, "I'm mostly rock music so I'm going turn it up just a little bit for you guys." Then she kicked off the set with "Don't Make Me Repeat Myself." It had me thinking Heart 1985.

She played with backing tracks, which she mentioned were recordings of her playing all the instruments, "a band of Sierra's." She sang about her emotional landscape. "Moody Little Things" was about not feeling good natured all the time. "Take Me Away" was about when she is angry. The song was inspired by bands such as Twisted Sister and Joan Jett. She announced that her song "New Generation" was her next release. It had me thinking about one of the queens of the Sunset Strip, Barb Wire Dolls.
Her bio states, "Recognized by Guitar.com as “Gen Z’s Most Ambitious New Guitarist” and featured among “10 Young Shredders Shaping Rock and Metal Today,” Sierra has also been prominently featured on GuitarWorld.com and in Guitar World Magazine. Her sound is a fusion of pop, rock, and metal, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Avril Lavigne, Ghost, Heart, and Scorpions." Honest truth, I did not read her bio prior to her set. The influence of Heart on her music is obvious from the start.

She mentioned to Canvas Rebel that during COVID she started to post cover songs on Instagram. Got to give her a thumbs up for that. She focused her talents during a global shutdown. To continue that pursuit of music, she moved from Canada to California. I love the passion.
Her song "U Are My Drug" is a love song, not a song about drugs (her mention). She performed the song on her acoustic guitar. It is an aggressive song that had her attacking her strings throughout the song, a lift of the right hand and then a downward swiping motion. Along with that guitar playing were rocker vocals.

And when I have a bad day
You put a smile on my face
You are my drug
I can't get enough
