A Vons in Pasadena

I was at a Pasadena Vons recently to buy some bread (not my normal grocery store as I don’t live in Pasadena). I was heading off to my friends’ house for lunch. I got my bread and got into the checkout line. There were two people in front of me and one in back. I swear that the cashier knew each of their names. And I don’t believe it was because they swiped their Vons card. I believe she said hello to them immediately. Maybe I’m wrong, but if true it was surprisingly refreshing. A little bit of small town USA in SoCal.
