I was out exercising recently when a skunk came running out in front of me -- perhaps five yards away. It turned to face me. It gave me a hard stare and began to raise its tail. Okay, I thought. I started to back up a few steps. At that point the skunk must have decided I wasn't a threat and took off across the road.
